What is the purpose of completing this programme?

You can apply for a Class 2 Real Estate Licence after successfully completing the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. As a result, you can work as a real estate agent in a wide range of capacities, but you cannot run your own real estate brokerage.

What will this qualification enable me to do?

Once National Property College has given you your certificate of completion, you can submit an application to Fair Trading NSW for your Class 2 License.

You can practise real estate counselling in NSW if you have a Class 2 Real Estate Licence.

With a class 2 licence, you can work independently selling homes, managing rental properties, and acting as a buyers' agent.

Are there formal entrance requirements for this course?

Admission Requirements for both qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older at course commencement.

  • Satisfactory completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent

  • Mature age students may also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience would normally be expected but each case will be reviewed individually with relevant work experience evidenced by work reference letter on company letterhead, work samples and curriculum vitae submitted will be considered.

Provide English language skills either by:

  • Evidence of English tests, e.g., IELTS 6.0 or equivalent

  • Achieved a pass result in level 3/4 VCE English or VCE ESL or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two (2) years study at an AQF level 4 or higher completed in Australia.
